WEEK 1 CHALLENGE: DRINK A GALLON OF WATER

We are kicking off this year with a BANG with this 52-week challenge and I’m SO excited!
When I sketched out these 52 weeks, I thought carefully about what I’d start with. After all the holiday craziness (and food) I have about 10 million goals swirling around in my head–and while I’d LOVE to get to all of them…I thought which one is MOST important…and possibly most effective?
Water.
Drinking enough water daily is SO challenging for me. I can easily get workouts in, eat all my veggies and protein but when it comes to water I just struggle!
So I thought this would be a perfect habit to start with!
I personally am going to be drinking 1 gallon of water each day for the next 7 days. But if that seems insane to you, or doesn’t feel right for your body or goals, my challenge to you is to drink at LEAST 1/2 your body weight in oz. of water. For example. if you weigh 150lbs, you should drink at least 75 oz. of water. This should really be your MINIMUM daily water goal! If you want something more challenging or aggressive, join me in a gallon!
Whenever I’ve strived to drink a gallon per day, the BIGGEST factor in my success is PREPARATION. Making sure I have a gallon jug or a fancy water bottle to measure my progress is so helpful. I recently bought this gorgeous water bottle from Blogilates x Target. It’s 64oz so I fill it up the night before and make sure I get 2 of them in for the day. Another tip…try and drink as much in the first half of the day. The last thing you want is to be chugging water late at night to hit your goal–it’ll keep you running to the bathroom in the middle of the night!
